Lasting Light Poetry March 10, 2002
Welcome! It's nice to have some time to spend with you again. Winter is still having her say in some areas, but eventually Spring is going to overrule this cold weather. Please take a moment and relax with me. I want to thank those of you who have tried to sign my guestbook during the past week. The guestbook is now working for those that wish to leave their comments.
I really miss hearing from new and old friends. A very warm thanks to all of you who are using and viewing the message board at Lasting Light Poetry. I am sorry for the popups on that page, but they are NOT mine, and I have no control or affiliation with the sponsors or any ads on the board itself. I do apologize for this inconveninece, but hope you will check out the lovely recipes, poems, and sharing that you will find there. You DON'T have to leave your email address. I hope this has helped answer a few questions. You will find some helpful links below.
Thanks...Karen

Here is a wonderful recipe for Passover. Check out her other recipes. They look fantastic!
~~ Passover Chocolate Torte
This is yet another one of Chaya Stein's recipe, so you know it's good.
Chaya: "I once found this recipe in the Good Housekeeping; it didn't have any flour so I made it for Pesach. It's delicious, but very rich."
You will need:
16 oz. pkg. chocolate chips (melted) Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Grease springform pan and dust with cocoa. Melt chocolate with margarine. In a large bowl mix egg yolks and vanilla with a fork. Slowly beat warm melted chocolate into yolks until blended. In small bowl beat whites until stiff, and slowly add confectionary sugar. Fold whites into chocolate mixture 1/3 at a time.
Bake for 1 hour until toothpick thrust into top of torte comes out almost clean. Cool torte in pan. Cut into 12 wedges. Alternating, dust every other wedge with cocoa and then confectionary sugar. Garnish with raspberries. Yum.

Quotes***
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself. You don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note. Never part without loving words to think of during your absence. It may be that you will not meet again in this life. If two men agree on everything, you may be sure that one of them is doing the thinking. I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it. The greatest weakness of most humans is their hesitancy to tell others how much they love them while they're still alive. The important thing is not to stop questioning. The quickest way to make a red light turn green is to try to find something in the glove compartment. The most wasted day of all is that on which we have not laughed. As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

I MUST KEEP IT IN MY HEART,,
NOT A SOUL CAN KNOW THIS MATTER,,
I AM A WEIRY NOBLEMEN OF COMMON DECENT,,
AND SHE,, I MUST BE HER LOYAL KNIGHT,, HER SILENT PROTECTOR,,
EVEN THOUGH I AM FAR AWAY IN STRANGE LANDS,,
SHE IS BY MY SIDE,, SHE COMFORTS ME IN WAR,,
ACROSS THE BATTLEFIELD HER VISON IS MY GUIDE,,
I HAVE PLEGDED MY LIFE TO KING AND COUNTRY,,
I WILL FIGHT THE BATTLE ON THE FIELD,, AND IN MY HEART,,
IN WAR I AM VICTORY,,
IN LOVE I MUST LOVE FROM VAST DISTANCES,,
FOR SHE IS MY PRINCESS AND I HER LOYAL KNIGHT IN ARMOR,,
I WILL RETURN TO MY COUNTRY AND RIDE BEFORE HER,,
I AM VICTORY,, I HAVE NOT FAILED BEARING ARMS AND RICHS TO LAY BEFORE HER,,
I HER NOBLE KNIGHT SHALL STAND AGIAN,, AS HER SILENT PROTECTOR,,
TO HER NO HARM SHALL BEFALL TO MY DYING BREATH,,
MY ENEMIES ARE DEAD,, I AM VICTORY,,
