Someone Always Cares

This fate that has befallen me
Has robbed me of my joy
My heart seems to be breaking
Like a child's old cast-off toy

I wonder if you could know
The pain I'm feeling now
I wouldn't wish it on anyone
Should I just throw in the towel?

I hung my head in sorrow
And tears began to flow
I heard a still and gentle voice
Saying "Hush child, yes, I know."

I looked around and dried my tears
The room seemed full of light
Oh, maybe I imagined it
I had been up all night

I closed my eyes and asked again
"Oh God, could that be you?"
The answer echoed in my soul
"My child, I thought you knew."

I felt shamed for all my doubting
My heart was lighter, no despair
I knew that I could face this day
Knowing Someone always cares

If I take the wings of morning,
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me,
and thy right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 139:9,10
