Going Home

The Shepherd softy speaks in words
My listening heart can hear
The evening settles all around
His presence draws me near

The earth reveals her splendor
Sunset's colors blend and flow
I hear Him calling, calling me
Down the road where I must go

He stands there waiting patiently
My Savior's love is great
I hear the song He gave to me
As I pass the open gate

The angels sing a chorus fine
To soothe a heart so sore
I only know it brings to me
A longing to hear more

He is the Shepherd of my soul
Who keeps me safe from harm
The path He puts before me leads
To His everlasting arms

You are my hiding place;
You will protect me
from trouble and
surround me with
songs of deliverance.
Psalm 32:7
