Eternity's Door

Take me far from this lonely place
To where the horizon meets the sea
Lift me up and help me fly
Beyond what my eyes can see

Show me there is something more
No boundaries to block my flight
Where no shadows cover the face of the sun
And the stars shimmer full in the night

I'll take your cares and scatter them
Across the four great winds
And let them settle into the dust
Never to return again

No storm or heartache will dare intrude
All worries and doubts disappear
For the way will be clear and easily found
Nothing sad will dare interfere

Hearts can be broken and hearts can be lost
But some hearts were just meant to soar
With the magic you find when you don't look behind
You'll fly straight to Eternity's Door

This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere;
the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling;
vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn
and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands,
each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.

~ John Muir
