Child Again

If I could be that child again
Without a worry or care
And step into that childhood world
Where pain and hurt were rare

If I could feel your loving arms
Soothing all that's wrong
I'd slip into that world so quick
Where days were sweet and long

And you would take me to the park
I'd swing high in the air
For I had not a thing to fear
Because my mom was there

This poem is dedicated to my dear mother, Nellie June Shaw.
Thanks for everything, Mom...and to all mothers everywhere who
love us, often despite ourselves ;)

And would some pretty story tell,
Or kiss the place to make it well?
My Mother."
