I thought I heard you
Calling my name
It sounded quite distant
But it was you just the same
It was carried by wind
And a breeze passing by
It was soft and so tender
Like a contented small sigh
I smiled when I heard it
I was glad that you knew
I longed for your voice
And yes, this would do
Now some might just tell me
I imagined it all
But I could never mistake
Your voice when you call
Let dreamers keep dreaming
What harm can it do?
To cherish a memory
Of a voice I once knew.
