Artwork of Thomas Kinkade

Lightwork

The sunshine slips through the window
Like a child unable to say
It may be the dead of winter
But I'm here shining on anyway

I've peeked through the dark clouds so often
Have you forgotten that I'm always there?
You look up with sad resignation
And a face filled with worry and care

I still make the waterfall sparkle
Even though you may choose not to see
The midnight sky wouldn't glitter
With stars that go on endlessly

I remain as a gentle reminder
That nothing is quite as it seems
I bring comfort and warmth every season
It's just a matter of simple degrees

I can scarcely wait till tomorrow
when a new life begins for me
as it does each day,
as it does each day.
