Christmas Longings

Although a thousand years may pass
We know that we are home at last
I feel your presence, Lord just now
Oneday before your throne I'll bow

The journey, yes, was worth it all
You answered every frantic call
When night came swiftly you were there
Those lonely times so full of care

Lord, see my heart and hold me close
Knowing that I love you most
But sadly there is one who's gone
Some days it seems so very long

This Christmas joy will be complete
When one day you and I will meet
The pieces then will fall in place
All sadness gone without a trace

Oh thank you Lord, for giving me
A place with you eternally
As stars light up this winter's sky
What lies beyond? No more good-byes!
